Like all pieces in the Ginsu Lotta Series, these knives have Japanese stainless steel blades, serrated on both sides for clean and smooth cuts. The material is known to be very durable, rust-, stain- and corrosion-resistant. Each knife has a full-tang blade for increased balance and safety while using.

Japanese stainless steel is actually a material obtained by forging high-carbon steel and soft iron together. The steel used in this Ginsu knife set contains 13% chromium, this element being essential for preventing rust and for hardening the material. Still, exceeding this percentage and adding more chromium into steel may add some softness to the final material, meaning that the resulted steel can’t be tempered as hard. This is why Japanese stainless steel keeps the chromium percent as close to 13% as possible.

The handles are also made of the same stainless steel as the blades, but with a satin finish, therefore they’re not only very strong but also very durable. Their curved, ergonomic shape provides a friendly hold, fitting smoothly into the hand.
